Palm Avenue Bikeway Virtual Public Meeting Thursday October 15 6 PM on Zoom

  • Thursday, October 15, 2020
  • 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM

The City of Fresno has successfully secured $1.4 million in State Grant funding for a Class IV bikeway on Palm Avenue between Belmont and Dakota. Construction of the Class IV bikeway will begin in spring 2021.  The section of Palm from Shaw to the San Joaquin River has been previously completed.

To provide a fully connected bike path between Downtown Fresno and the San Joaquin River, a designated bike path on Palm from Dakota to Shaw must be installed.  This section is in the County, therefore the City and County are coordinating efforts to engage the community and complete the bike path.

Councilmember Soria and Council President Arias are asking your participation at a Virtual Joint City and County meeting on Thursday, October 15, 2020, at 6pm to discuss the importance of this section of Palm completing the connection.

You can join the zoom meeting using this link: https://zoom.us/j/97375242264 or Join by phone: 16699009128 Meeting ID: 973 7524 2264

We also ask that you participate in a brief survey!

Please share the attached flyer and survey link with your networks, friends and other bike riders to help us complete a safe bikeway along Palm Avenue connecting Downtown Fresno to the San Joaquin River!

We have already seen social posts negative on the Palm Avenue bike path.  Supervisor Brandau says he will support path if community says the want it.  We need as many voices at the meeting in support that we can get to ensure this portion of the road is done and the connectivity is complete.
